Welcome to North Lake Tahoe
Quiet lakeside communities with stunning lake and mountain views
North Lake Tahoe is made up of several lakefront communities along the northern half of Lake Tahoe. At the northernmost point is the state line between California and Nevada. The majority of these upscale towns are on the California side of the lake. Brockway, Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista, Carnelian Bay, Tahoe City, and Homewood make up the main areas where residents seek properties. Luxury cabins, Tahoe Style, mountain modern, and Bauhaus-style homes line the beautiful shores of North Lake Tahoe.
Compared to South Lake Tahoe, this northern region is tranquil and centered around all the abundant activities to enjoy out in nature during each season. Fewer crowds and quiet open spaces make it an ideal place to call home. Instead of an evening party scene like South Tahoe, the days are livelier in the northern areas enjoying Après daytime parties. Each August, locals look forward to the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance, the most famous wooden boat show in North America. Different classes of wooden boats are shown and judged giving the public a look into the craft and love of wooden boating.
During the holidays there are several community events celebrating the festive season with the biggest on New Year’s Eve. You can ring in the New Year at either Squaw Valley Ski Resort or at The Village at Northstar. Winterfest is a festival combining the lifestyle of mountain living with music and food at Boreal Mountain.
